Acer Predator Aspire G7700

Aspire PREDATOR desktop offers an outstanding gaming experience for users who play games for the fun of facing impossible challenges and overcoming limits that would otherwise be insurmountable. The Predator G7700 is an original, aggressive chassis design which conceals the latest generation technologies. An overclocking top range processor, up to 8GB of DDR2 800/1066 memory and 3x NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX graphics cards kept in check by a liquid cooled core.

Exceptional Performance
For best gaming performance, the Aspire Predator G7700 offers NVIDIA nForce 780th SLI MCP chipset which is 3-way SLI capable while also supporting the last CPU generation. The n-Tune overclocking utility offers a simple process instead of the traditionally complex process of overclocking CPU, RAM and graphics cards so you do not need to restart the PC after each variation. In addition, a liquid cooling system that guarantees perfect system operation and stability without overheating, even after overclocking, without compromising maximum possible performance.
Superior Gaming Enhancements
Another Predator striking feature is the Acer Easy-swap Hard Drive solution which makes the four Serial ATA 3Gbit/s high capacity hard disks removable even when the PC is turned on and in use. This rapid access and replacement of hard disks transforms the new Acer Aspire PREDATOR into an easily expandable, scalable platform. RAID 0, 1, 5, 1+0 modes with NVIDIA MediaShield Storage technology guarantee the utmost data security in the event of disk failure.

Aggressive Design
The deep metallic copper coloured housing perfectly representing the power it encloses: the front of the body can be raised, accompanied by a world first optical bay mechanism to reveal a rewritable DVD and Blu-Ray reader. The easily accessed USB and audio ports on top combined with a Multi-card reader are combined by incredible light effects created by blue LEDs emitting from Predators face.

Acer Liquid

Introduction
The Android meter is ticking. Acer want a piece of the pie. We all add two and two together. Yesterday, Acer didn't know the first thing about phones (if you can say that for a household name in notebooks), today they're betting on two horses in the mobile OS race. After their neoTouch running on Windows Mobile 6.5, Acer decided to dip their toe into another kind of water - the free and open source world of Android. This time attention goes to the Liquid - the company's second Snapdragon powered device.
We have to admit we weren't as impressed as we wished by the neoTouch and its almost naked Windows Mobile OS. It was less the price and more the really strong competition that drew our attention away from it.

We're certain it's not how Acer planned it to be and their answer was immediate - the sexy Liquid powered by Android 1.6. Just like the neoTouch, a Snapdragon core is ticking inside the Liquid and does all it can to run the OS flawlessly despite the slightly lower clock rates.

Key features
Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE support
3G with HSDPA 7.2 Mbps and HSUPA 2Mbps
Android OS v1.6 with Acer UI 3.0
3.5" capacitive touchscreen of WVGA resolution
Qualcomm Snapdragon 8250 768 MHz CPU, 256 MB RAM
5 megapixel autofocus camera with video recording
Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g and GPS receiver
Accelerometer sensor for auto-rotate and turn-to-mute
Digital compass
Standard miniUSB port for charging and data
Stereo Bluetooth (A2DP)
microSD card slot with support for up to 16GB cards (2GB one included)
Standard 3.5mm audio jack
Direct access to the official Android Market

Main disadvantages
Camera lacks flash or lens cover, has outdated features
No smart dialing, no voice dialing, no video calling
No web Flash support
Acer UI 3.0 offers only minor changes to the original interface
Somewhat limited 3rd party software availability
No DivX or XviD video support or a third-party application to play that
Poor MP4 playback performance - any videos over QVGA res are barely watchable
No proper file manager out of the box
No TV-out port
No FM radio

Both lists give us a sense of deja-vu. It was a similar case with the neoTouch, but this time the situation is a bit different. Some of the Liquid's weaknesses are inherent to the Android OS (especially its first iteration, the Donut). It's not that they won't count against, but it's at least fair to note most of those are not Acer's fault.

Anyway, the Liquid will be measured against the likes of HTC Magic, HTC Hero, Samsung Galaxy and Samsung Galaxy Spica and it sure has a few things to offer that they won't. WVGA resolution and sky-high processing speeds are enough of an edge against competitors. The excellent capacitive screen and all-round connectivity are perhaps no news for the Android species.
So, Acer are newcomers but they're keen to bring value. Let's see how their Android fits in that plan.

Reliability Test On Notebook Intel Core i5

Product Reviews Acer Aspire 4740 G

Notebook that uses an Intel Core i5 is already widely beredaran in the market. This class notebook is aimed at users of any portable hobby kompter treat a variety of digital content. Whether it's image manipulation, processing, instrument sounds, to do video editing. The presence of Intel Core i5.

For the desktop version, may be core i5 has shown its fangs with a few of the features offered. Starting from Turbo Boost ability, the ability of Hyper-Threading, so low energy consumption, the mainstay product. But what about their performance on a notebook?

To test its capabilities, detikINET tried a variety of heavy applications such as 3D Mark 2006 until the method of computation of large data in Microsoft Excel by using 4740G notebook Aspire.

Acer Aspire 4740 G, has been using an Intel Core i5 430M which has a speed of 2.27 GHz. Processors of this type has also adopted new technologies such as small fabrication process, 32nm.

Diboyongnya features that are not far adrift with the desktop version, from Hyper-Threading capabilities, Turbo Boost, Memory Controller is integrated, so that low energy consumption.

Judging from the features provided, it will not be surprised if Intel processors claim they can meet the needs of portable computer users who prioritize, powerful performance with low energy consumption.

In the specifications listed, the Intel Core i5 430M would profiteer energy of about 35 watts. This species is slightly higher compared to brothers Core i5 520UM which requires only 18 watts.

However, in experiments performed detikINET i5 Core processor notebook with 430M can survive almost three hours when done for browsing with Wi-Fi, while listening to favorite songs through Windows Media Player and do light work with Microsoft Office.

After playing with the battery endurance, detikINET test the ability of this processor with the test applications are like CineBench, PC Mark Vantage, to use the 3D Mark 2006.

Figures produced was regarded satisfactory. Though not very high, but this processor is still good enough to handle a variety of needs such as gaming mild to severe grade calculation calculations.

But unfortunately, his ability singlecore not far adrift from the previous series. This can be proved when doing penggujian on CineBench where Core i5 430M gain digit gain in 2626 and 2742 T9400 (smaller is better).

Maybe there is a noticeable difference is very trivial, but please note that not all applications can take advantage of capabilities that multicore processors later on.

Testing is then performed with the simulation calculation of large data using Microsoft Excel. The result, Core i5 able to complete a given task in just 14 seconds. Or four seconds faster than the Intel T9400.

So whether this processor is powerful enough can be said? Viewed from the ability shown, this processor can still show the 'fangs' to handle the heavy duties, or the game lightly.

Despite its ability singlecore not too good, but the various changes from the previous series makes this processor deserve to be considered.

Pros:
+ Saving Energy
+ No heat
Overall good + Performance

Disadvantages:
- Single Core Capability less

Benchmark Results:

CineBench R10
1-CPU Rendering: C2626
X-CPU Rendering: C6294

PC Mark Vantage: 4829

3D Mark 2006: 2077

Excel 2007 Number Crunch: 14 seconds
